Semi-Precious gems include all gems other than the precious gems. Rather than listing and discussing them individually, I am going to list some of the properties and characteristics that should be considered when caring for them. This is not intended to be a complete accounting for all of the semi-precious gems, but rather a brief overview that will cover most of the problem areas the average person would likely encounter. I have included the precious gemstones so that you can compare them with semi-precious gems.
